What is Direct Credit?Direct Credit is like dual enrollment. Students in specific programs at the Muskegon Area Career Tech Center can earn direct college credit at Muskegon Community College. MACTC students can earn a transcripted credit (grade on an MCC transcript) that is specific to the MACTC program the student is enrolled in. The biggest difference is that the class is taught while the student attends MACTC, by an MACTC instructor who is also an MCC adjunct staff member. So, a student does not need to have a separate class time or attend night classes at the college to get the credit.
How do I know if I qualify for Direct Credit?A student interested in earning direct credit must:

What happens if...?I signed up for direct credit or concurrent enrollment, but I no longer want to be in the class.
I do not pass with a "B" or better in the college class?
I'm graduating high school before the college class is done?
It is important to understand that this is a real college class. It can affect your college transcripts, GPA, and scholarships, even after you finish high school. |
